Academic Biography
I am Ignatius Nyendah, a final‑year PhD candidate at the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. My research focuses on the dynamical modeling of cyanide and thiocyanate bioremediation in gold mine wastewater treatment. I develop mathematical models to capture the complex reactions involved and validate them using industrial plant data. Beyond modeling, my aim is to design predictive tools that not only describe system dynamics but also support the control and optimization of rotating biological contactor operations. Through this work, I seek to bridge applied mathematics with environmental engineering, advancing sustainable management of industrial wastewater treatment. My broader goal is to contribute to solutions that safeguard ecosystems and communities impacted by mining activities.
